Investigative Services in Latin America for Decisions Records Cannot Settle
We establish what the record already shows, then investigate the gaps that could change the decision. The most useful scope is not always the broadest.
ISSLA RISK provides investigative services across Mexico, South America and the Caribbean, from investigative due diligence and corporate fraud investigations to asset tracing services and reputation enquiries.
Four questions, seven ways to answer them.
Each service is scoped to the decision behind the question, not sold as a fixed package.
-

Who are we really dealing with?
Due Diligence Investigations
A counterparty review following ownership and control beyond the register, recording what remains unconfirmed. For acquisitions, joint ventures and key intermediaries.

-

Who are we really dealing with?
Reputation Enquiries (HUMINT)
Structured conversations with informed local sources, each weighed for proximity, motive and consistency, where records say nothing about how a business operates.
-

Where are the assets, and how are they connected?
Asset Tracing
Leads tested against the subject so counsel can tell a documented link from a similar name. Findings, not recovery forecasts.
-

Where are the assets, and how are they connected?
Corporate Investigations
Suspected fraud and undisclosed associations examined through records, targeted local enquiries and a chronology counsel can use. Interviews follow legal assessment.
-

Where are the assets, and how are they connected?
Brand Protection & Anticounterfeit
Supply routes, points of sale and sellers behind suspected counterfeit or diverted goods, documented for rights holders. Test purchases need separate approval.
-

Does the operational reality match the documentation?
Field Verification
Dated site visits, address checks and enquiries comparing documents with observable activity, stating what one visit cannot show. Available as stand-alone checks.
-

What could affect the decision or its execution?
Country Risk & Forecast
Named actors, policy shifts and institutional habits bearing on one deal or dispute, with dated indicators to monitor. Forecasts are conditional assessments.

What you receive
As an independent firm, we write each report for the decision at hand and do not bend findings toward a hoped-for answer.
Sources
Every source is listed, from official records to local people, with how each was weighed for proximity, motive and consistency.
Findings with stated confidence
What matters to the decision, set out finding by finding, each carrying a stated degree of confidence rather than a blanket conclusion.
Limits and what could not be verified
What we could not confirm and why: access, records, time or lawful scope. A gap is reported as a gap, not filled by inference.
Next steps
The further enquiries that could close an open question, proposed only where the decision justifies the cost. You decide whether to proceed.
Scope varies by jurisdiction and access. Fees are quoted case by case. Reports commit to method and evidence, not to a predetermined outcome.
The investigative method behind each step is set out separately, and our investigative coverage shows where we can work. Intelligence firms, law firms and funders, corporates and investors, and banks and insurers instruct us directly; we also take defined workstreams from professional partners.

Questions before you instruct us
Which investigative service fits my question?
Start from the decision, not the service name. Doubts about who stands behind a party point to due diligence or reputation enquiries, asset questions to asset tracing, operational doubts to a site visit, political exposure to country analysis. If it is unclear, the first conversation narrows it.
Which services do clients combine most often?
Many matters need more than one, such as ownership mapping followed by a site visit, or due diligence followed by asset tracing. We set the order of work so each stage narrows or widens the next, and scope the combination to the decision rather than selling a fixed package.
How much do investigative services cost?
ISSLA RISK does not publish fixed prices. Cost depends on jurisdiction, the records involved, access and depth of enquiry, so every proposal is scoped to the case after lawful-purpose and conflict checks. Official record fees and likely local costs are identified up front where possible.
How does a confidential enquiry start?
Describe the subject, the jurisdiction and the decision at stake in a confidential enquiry. We check lawful purpose and conflicts, confirm whether we can work there, and return a defined scope and fee proposal. Confidentiality applies from the first message.
Tell us the decision you are trying to make.
A short description is enough to begin. We check lawful purpose and conflicts, then propose a scope built around your case.
